Arts Integration Program Manager


The Expanded Day Teaching Artist Project (EDTAP) is an AmeriCorps program of Providence ˇCityArts! for Youth. EDTAP aims to empower youth ages 8-14 through an expanded day model for arts-integrated learning in schools. ˇCityArts! EDTAP is currently seeking a part-time 20hr/week Arts Integration Program Manager. This position requires an experienced arts educator/administrator who is passionate about the role of teaching artists and integrated arts learning in shaping the healthy development and academic success of urban youth.

The EDTAP Arts Integration Program Manager will provide direct training and curricular supervision over ˇCityArts! AmeriCorps arts learning initiatives in two Providence Public Schools and partnering agencies. The EDTAP Program Manager will work with teams to engage urban middle school youth in creative learning connected to academic subject matter.

Responsibilities of the EDTAP Arts Integration Program Manager include:
• Planning and implementing pre-service skill development training, as well as weekly training sessions throughout the AmeriCorps year
• Providing ongoing feedback on curriculum maps and lesson plans
• Observing and coaching teaching artists on-site regularly to foster best teaching practices
• Leading a weekly full-day meeting with members, including monitoring team curriculum design meetings, leading a reflection meeting and facilitating training workshops
• Communicating regularly with ˇCityArts! Senior Staff, as well as partner agency staff members
• Offering support to members as issues arise
• Documentation of team members working at sites

The qualified candidate will have:
• Teaching experience in the arts
• Experience with training, coaching or mentoring other educators or youth workers
• A degree in Education or Arts Education
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
• Leadership experience with youth arts agency and/or youth service program
• Management or supervisory experience

Salary commensurate with experience.
